A Tribe Called Red

A HOT TICKET presentation
Canadian DJ collective A Tribe Called Red is a modern gateway into urban and contemporary indigenous culture, celebrating all its layers and complexity. Made up of Bear Witness and 2oolman, ATCR packs the dance floor while projecting indigenous stereotyping from movies, cartoons and media into a new political context accompanied by a dancer, mixing b-boy and traditional moves.

The crew has performed high profile festival dates at Coachella, Bonnaroo, AfroPunk, Osheaga, and New Orleans Jazz Fest to list a few. Having released their third award winning album, We Are The Halluci Nation, in September (2016); ATCR is garnering more attention than ever before. Pitchfork, MUCH, Time and National Post are a few of many showing support; helping the group is create their own Halluci Nation. Exclaim! rated We Are The Halluci Nation a 10/10, while Pitchfork rated the album an 8.1/10.

After being invited to present a TED Talk in Vancouver last spring, A Tribe Called Red decided to completely revisit their show and present their artistic vision on stage in a different way; more appropriate for seated audiences without losing the energy and message they are known for. Putting the philosophy forward and getting out of their musical comfort zone, they created a unique performance for TED that they are extending and presenting for the first time on tour of selected Performing Arts Centres in Ontario.

NEW:  Bringing a few guests with them (Creeasian, respectfulchild and 2018 Polaris Prize winning  classically trained operatic tenor and composer  Jeremy Dutcher! ), they will put in music the ideas and ideals behind the Halluci Nation. Come experience something totally unique from one of the most acclaimed groups in the country.
