COVID-19 Health & Safety Protocols
Welcoming you back safely to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre

The FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre is excited to welcome the community back for live performing arts events inside our venues this fall.

The PAC team has taken great care to create Safety Lives Here , our COVID-19 health and safety plan for indoor events protecting staff, artists and the public while on our property. This plan, originally developed in consultation with the Niagara Public Health Authority and the City of St. Catharines, is an ever evolving set of policies and procedures that responds to changes within local and provincial jurisdictions.

The health and well-being of our audiences, artists, volunteers and employees is of the utmost importance to us.

The Niagara Region is currently in the Orange (Restrict) level of Ontario’s COVID-19 response framework.

There are new health and safety procedures in place, including the following:
  • We are adhering to current provincial regulated capacity limits for indoor events, which is set at 50 members of the public.
  • The wearing of masks is mandatory for all staff and members of the public while inside the building, including during concerts, with the exception of children under the age of four.
  • Appropriate physical distancing will apply at all times (2m).
  • Our venue will be open and we will be ready to welcome you to the PAC 30mins prior to each event.
  • Seating is facilitated at the discretion of the PAC to ensure safe distancing. Seating designations are final. If you have accessibility needs, please ensure to let the Box Office know in advance of your arrival.
  • Heightened cleaning and disinfecting protocols are in place which include continuous cleaning and disinfecting of high touch surfaces. Venue sanitization will be in effect including the use of state of the art electrostatic sprayers.
  • Impermeable plexiglass barriers will be used on stage as prescribed by Ontario’s COVID-19 Safety Guidelines.
  • To mitigate gathering and lines we will not be offering concessions, there will be no merchandise for sale and performances will not have intermissions.
  • Specific, designated entrances and exits to the building will allow for one-directional movement for your safety.
  • Washroom facilities will be available for patron usage pre and post events and will have increased cleaning protocols.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at all entrances and exits for public use.
  • Niagara Public Health and Emergency Response Screening Questions will be asked, and contact tracing information will be collected upon entry.
  • We have added flexibility to our ticket refund policy for PAC ticketed events. If anyone is feeling unwell closer to the event date, they can remain at home and receive a ticket refund or donate the cost of their tickets to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre for a charitable tax receipt. Please notify us within 24 hours of your event.
  • All ticket holders who purchase tickets through the PAC Box Office will receive an email 48 hours prior to the event with more details about your PAC experience.
  • For updates and information about concerts and events presented in our venues by other organizations, please contact those organizations directly.
