Health & safety for our staff, artists and audiences
UPDATE: Wed 27 April 2022
As of Fri 6 May 2022, mask wearing for the public within the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre is optional and those who wish to continue wearing one are encouraged to do so.
The FirstOntario supports our audience’s choice to continue the personal practices that make them feel comfortable and encourages the community to continue following public health guidance:
- Get vaccinated for COVID-19, including getting your booster shot
- Stay home if you are sick
- Wash or sanitize your hands frequently
Our Algoma lobby bar and Film House concessions will be open. High-touch cleaning and safety protocols and our modern ventilation system with dual filtration are all in place to provide a safe, welcoming return for all.
We no longer require proof of vaccination. Our staff and volunteers remain fully vaccinated and will continue to wear masks.
Thank you for your care, understanding and patience. We look forward to welcoming you safely back to the PAC.

One of FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre’s central values is "CARE", so we are employing best practices in addition to government and public health guidelines in efforts towards providing an exemplary duty of care in these challenging times.
Our goal is to provide a memorable experience, while keeping our PAC family and community safe. We have the following in place to provide a face and welcoming return for all:
• We have increased sanitization protocols in high-touch areas.
• Advanced ventilation systems are all in place
• We encourage online ordering, cashless transactions and print@home/electronic ticketing.
In efforts to keep safe and best serve our artists, staff and patrons, we will continue to update, advance and make changes to our policies and procedures as required and as necessary.

By entering the venue, you and your party voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Venue and Presenter/Promoter disclaim any and all liability related thereto. By placing this order, I accept the terms and conditions. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any place where people gather. FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre abides by all Public Health guidelines and regulations relating to COVID-19 and has implemented all reasonable measures (which might include a screening questionnaire on the date of the event) for the protection of all individuals in its premises. However, COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By attending any event at FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, you assume all risks, hazards, and dangers arising from or relating in any way to the risk of contracting COVID-19 or any other communicable disease or illness, or a bacteria, virus or other pathogen capable of causing a communicable disease or illness, whether occurring before, during, or after the event, however caused or contracted. You expressly agree to voluntarily waive all claims and potential claims associated with the risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other exposure (as previously mentioned) as a result of your attendance at the event, whether against FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, Event Promoters, and all affiliated venues and/or contractors and/or employees of said entities.
Exclusion of Liability
Attending any public space, such as the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, involves some risk of exposure to the coronavirus (COVID-19). By attending FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre you are voluntarily assuming any potential risk related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree, accept, and acknowledge that the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre (and any of its employees, directors, presenters, promoters and officers) cannot in any way be held liable if you do develop COVID-19. If you do develop COVID-19, you agree, accept, and acknowledge that you will not commence any litigation proceeding against the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre (or its employees, directors, presenters, promoters and officers) seeking damages or any other relief.
